This project I created to get a better understanding of the Substance Painter software by Algorithmic . The goal of this project was to create an interesting looking robot and texture it in Substance Painter to take advantage of its 3D painting software and its normal and height map editing features within the software. The base mesh for this model was created in Autodesk Maya 2016 and it was then sculpted in Mudbox and transfered over to Substance Painter. In Substance Painter the model was Textured, and I added various amounts of damage detail to the normal map and got a very nice metallic specularity going for the overall body. The final renders for the model were also shot in Substance Painter, as well.
